Five scores, read in seconds

The dossier answers the question every filing eventually raises — is this company getting stronger or weaker? — before you open a single document. Five scores summarize the entire filing record, and each one drills straight into the evidence behind it.

Insider Conviction

What the people who run the company are doing with their own money. Built from every Form 3, 4, and 5 — open-market buys and sells, cluster activity across executives, and the size and timing of each trade. Heavy net buying by multiple insiders reads as conviction; broad executive selling reads as caution.

Earnings Quality

How real the reported numbers are. Drawn from 10-K and 10-Q disclosures — accruals, one-time items, revenue recognition, and the gap between reported earnings and cash flow — so a headline beat built on accounting noise doesn't get mistaken for a durable one.

Financial Strength

Whether the balance sheet can absorb a shock. Reads leverage, liquidity, debt covenants, and going-concern language across periodic filings and 8-Ks to flag distress early — the covenant breach or liquidity squeeze that shows up in the filings long before the headline.

Governance Risk

The warning signs that precede a scandal. Board resignations, auditor changes, restatements, material weaknesses in internal controls, and unusual related-party transactions — surfaced from 8-Ks and proxies while they're still footnotes, not headlines.

Institutional Flow

Where the smart money is moving. Merges quarterly 13F-HR holdings from $100M+ managers with SC 13D activist and SC 13G passive disclosures into one ownership signal — accumulation, distribution, and threshold-crossing events on a single timeline.

How the scoring works

Every score is a decile ranking against every company we track, not an absolute grade. Decile 1 is the strongest of all companies we score; decile 10 is the weakest. That framing answers the only question that matters when you're comparing ideas — not "is this good?" but "is this better than the alternatives?" Scores update as new filings land, so the dossier reflects the latest EDGAR record, usually within minutes of a filing.
